An Open Letter to Global Leaders Securing the Future of the Global Entertainment Data Ecosystem in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

To: Heads of State, Ministers responsible for Technology, Attorneys-General, Intellectual Property Offices, Digital Economy Ministers, and International Policymakers.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the creation, distribution, discovery, and commercialisation of creative works. At the same time, it is exposing significant challenges relating to data provenance, intellectual property, transparency, creator attribution, and cross-border digital governance.

The long-term success of the digital economy depends upon trusted infrastructure that enables lawful, verifiable, and accountable use of creative data. As AI systems continue to scale globally, these issues increasingly extend beyond individual companies and industries and into matters of national economic policy, international trade, and cultural preservation.

Drawing on nearly three decades of experience as an international recording artist, producer, entrepreneur, and technology founder, I believe the entertainment sector would benefit from infrastructure specifically designed to improve trust, transparency, and interoperability between creators, rights holders, technology platforms, and AI systems.

To contribute toward that objective, I have established EntertainmentIndustry.ai, an independent initiative intended to explore how secure digital infrastructure, structured data governance, and responsible AI practices may better support the global entertainment ecosystem.

The initiative is founded on three core principles.

Data Provenance

Reliable AI systems require reliable data. Improving the traceability, verification, and governance of entertainment-related data can assist organisations in understanding the origin, ownership, licensing status, and permitted use of digital assets.

Intellectual Property Integrity

As AI capabilities expand, creators and rights holders require practical mechanisms that support lawful use of creative works while respecting existing intellectual property frameworks and enabling appropriate attribution and licensing.

Transparent Governance

The development of trusted digital infrastructure should be guided by transparency, accountability, technical integrity, and collaboration between industry participants, governments, researchers, and technology providers.

EntertainmentIndustry.ai is intended as infrastructure rather than a consumer platform. Its objective is to explore how structured, trustworthy data systems may contribute to a more transparent and resilient digital environment for the global entertainment industry.

I respectfully invite policymakers, government agencies, regulators, academic institutions, industry participants, and technology leaders to review the initiative, provide constructive feedback, and participate in an open dialogue about the future governance of AI within the creative economy.

Artificial intelligence presents extraordinary opportunities. Ensuring those opportunities are realised responsibly will require collaboration between the public and private sectors, supported by trusted digital infrastructure and clear governance principles.

The future of the entertainment industry will depend not only on the intelligence of our machines, but also on the integrity of the data, governance, and institutions that support them. Building that future is a shared responsibility.

Respectfully,

David Aldo Frangiosa (David Franj)
